Hotel stays excites me as much as Fashion.I always enjoyed discovering beautiful, charming and chic hotels.I believe every stay gives me a bunch of inspiration for my work and yet an unforgettable stay and quality time with my family.I am a big fan of lifestyle and especially hotels that provide with a complete experience. We decided to take a long weekend off and spent some time in Amsterdam City with the kids.Yes, you didn’t read it wrong.Amsterdam with the kids! Our schedules are so hectic that we miss having long hours with the kids outdoors.I always advice new parents to travel with their kids if possible as it gives them so much knowledge and it’s adventurous for them too! Their little minds picture everything. Therefore,we found the perfect location and hotel that fits into our expectation.Even if we do have our favorite spots in Amsterdam, from time to time,we love to go through a change.Especially if you love to experience different hotels.
Amstel Hotel is one of the most luxurious and beautiful hotels that I’ve stayed in Amsterdam. It smells History. It is a hotel since 1867.The building is just breath taking. It is located at the shore of the Amstel River that gives it a romantic and relaxing atmosphere. It’s a walking distance from the center of the city.Every detail is perfectly refined and it’s hard to have a better client service.Especially in Amsterdam.Everybody is so caring and I wasn’t surprised to find a chocolate on our pillows before going to bed. They have the best concierge service that can arrange everything for you in less than a minute, honestly. They could arrange a trusted nanny for us in less than an half hour. Hallelujah.
As we stepped in the hotel,I couldn’t help but taking my time to look at the great architecture and the interior.Especially the big beautiful chandelier and the Black Piano that is used as the Lobby table with big vases with Tulips.Such an inspiring interior idea, indeed.
Are you particularity sensitive to scent as I do?While walking down the corridors to the lifts, you can smell the distinctive nice scent of the hotel.
We stayed in the Executive Suite with a beautiful view on the river. The Blue décor of the room suited perfectly the gender of my kids.Big time! The bathroom looked very modern with a touch of art as you sink in your hot tube and enjoy a piece of painting hanging over there.
Breakfast was a dream. You sit on the river. Enjoy your coffee with a view.Who wouldn’t dream of that? The lunch in the Brasserie was delicious.Staff is warm and so easy going with the kids.It was sunny so we enjoyed a glass of Champagne on the Terrace.
The Dinner at the Michelin starred restaurant La Rive was a fairy tale on the river. The vibe is romantic yet relaxed more than formal which is what we prefer after a long day.Can you imagine taking your Lady by the boat from the Amstel Canal straight away to La Rive on a romantic date. The menu was divine. Some Caviar and delicious food that looked like Mini Magnums.Perfect presentation that pleases the eyes before the stomach.
We ended our night at the Lounge&Bar.The atmosphere was so cosy and casual. We couldn’t help but click some photos as it has a very modern decoration in an old historical building.
Last but not least, the hotel also has a spa and pool. The spa and the pool were good to relax and burn extra calories after the delighted dinner and drinks. You can also let your body get spoiled by some nice treatments and massages. There’s truly nothing better than that.
